The Beatles 1967 psychedelic bus tour called "The Magical Mystery Tour" took place in England and was originally filmed as a movie. Unfortunately with the death of their manager, Brian Epstein, the movie was an outright flop. The album, however, was a triumph.
The tour (and their use of "lucy in the sky with diamonds") extended and refined the Beatles’ version of psychedelia: a vision of the world that was essentially colorful, reflective and loving, but encompassed bad trips as well as good ones. Here Comes the Sun, Strawberry Fields Forever, All We Need is Love and Abbey Road are some of the songs I have painted in this "magical mystery".
