My husband and I had planned on being in Russia for three weeks on an invitational plein air painting trip with the Publisher of Plein Air Magazine, Eric Rhoads. Due to the state of affairs and Covid, we canceled. However, since wanting to get some plein air painting in, we decided to go to Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont and to the New York Adirondacks for Fall Color.
This was painted in my very first plein air competition. The competition was in Tupper Lake, NY. A very small town with a very big heart. They had some super good artists in the competition.
The sun was out and it was a beautiful day. We found this cute area with beautiful water. Even though the sun was above our heads, the shadows still showed promise of a good painting, all I needed was a fisherman! OMG…my husband loves to fish…”hey, honey, will you be my model?”
