Two Rivers Plein Air Competition in New Braunfels, Texas, 2023.
I traveled to the area for this competition in my RV. I stayed in a lovely yet very old park called Landa RV Park. Since my RV is large, I rented a SUV for the week, so that I could travel around the area and find some cool and scenic places I wanted to paint. However, it rained off and on all week, so it became challenging. I met a lot of wonderful people.
I painted this from a pier at Landa Park, which is a very beautiful landmark park. Lots of runners, fishermen, kids playing, picnickers, and me…a plein air artist. I came back to this spot twice to finish the piece, as it rained on me the first day not to mention, it soon became my most favorite spot. My prayer for the one that receives this…enjoy the special moments God gives to us; connections like that are rare. I hope you enjoy this piece as much as I enjoyed painting it.
