While at the Plein Aire Convention in San Diego CA, I went to La Jolla for a paint-out. This is the scene at Balboa Park. Balboa Park is a 1,200-acre urban cultural park. It has a lot of beautiful places to paint but since I love Monet, I wanted to paint this. The reflections in the painting were quite awesome. Also, while painting, some duck came over and destroyed the top left flower…damn duck! Glad I captured it before he did that!
