My husband and I had planned on being in Russia for three weeks on an invitational plein air painting trip with the Publisher of Plein Air Magazine, Eric Rhoads. Due to the state of affairs and Covid, we canceled. However, since wanting to get some plein air painting in, we decided to go to Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont and to the New York Adirondacks for Fall Color.
On my way to Franklin Falls, NY, I get a call from Jeffrey Baumgartner, "hey, Milessa, let's all meet for lunch at your favorite Lobster place in Saranac Lake…hmmm, let me see how close I am…hey, I can do it; meet you there! Yummy Lobster…oh, sorry, we just sold out! But there's another shipment coming in…maybe an hour or two! No problem, let's snack on ribs and paint here while we wait…three hours later (but it never dawned on us) we had the freshest lobsters! Take a break…eat…back to painting because this place is so darn cute! Our little lunch break lasted until sunset that night, we were all having so much fun! My friends and fellow artists were Deborah Berry, Jeffrey Baumgartner and Kellee Crosby Mayfield. Tail of the Pup is one of the best fresh lobster places around the Saranac area. Famous and popular for their smoked ribs too! We closed them down! but don't get the wrong idea…they close at 6:30 pm…LOL!
