Historic Havana Cuba

Oh my gosh what a great time we had. A bucket list trip for sure! Painting in Old Havana, seeing the home of Ernest Hemingway, Cuban culture, the sights, sounds and smells were all delightful. It filled my artistic soul. I think I took about 1000 photo’s and I know my husband, Larry Stewart, took about 3x more! I should have enough for a series, ya think? This painting is about the Cabaret dancers at the Tropicana.

Milessa Murphy Stewart

The best paintings create a story. My stories have happy endings.

Milessa was born a big city girl in a dry, desolate area of Texas where the only trees she saw were mesquite and the only things to climb was her horse. She remembers a lot of brown but that did not stop her from dreaming in beautiful, bold color. She paints in a playful and visual style.
