It’s not “newsday tuesday” yet?
So I just got this new app today to test my blogging of “newsday tuesday” while on the road or away from my studio. Hopefully this works great and I can add images and respond…and be creative!
In my last blog, I promised to work on something spiritual…so I am painting St. Catherine of Siena (1347-1380). She is a patron saint of Italy, born in Siena. She had first been buried near the Pantheon, in the cemetery of Santa Maria sopra Minerva. After many miracles were reported to have taken place at her grave, she was moved inside the Basilica of Santa Maria sopra Minerva. In 1970, Pope Paul VI gave Catherine the title of Doctor of the Church. This title was also given to Saint Teresa of Avila. Interestingly, Saint Teresa Avila is one of the icons I painted for the Mt Carmel Hermitage Monastery alter.
