What was I thinking?
A tribute painting to celebrate victims lives lost in Las Vegas at the Route 91 Fall Harvest Festival:
* 58 people enjoying music, dancing and living
* 58 butterflies unbelievably transcending into heaven
with love & honor
* 58 red poppies for their eternal departing
Red poppies are a symbol for remembering the fallen, peace in death, as well as, resurrection and eternal life. I have transcribed each butterfly specifically with one of the names for each of the fallen. The pair at the bottom to signify the only couple that died that day together (Bo Taylor & Denise Cohen). The largest butterfly at the top for the oldest (Patricia Mestas) and the youngest is at the bottom of the flight (Bailey Schweitzer). Next to her, four from Alaska. The butterfly on the right outside is Erick Silva, a security guard working that night. I have cataloged each butterfly for this memorial of love…because it matters!
