Gallery Wrapped Canvas
Dedicated to Gloria May Josephine Swanson (March 27, 1899 – April 4, 1983)
I have a love affair with the era of 1880-1920’s. Famous photographer Edward Steichen (1879-1973) worked with Conde Nast, Vogue and Vanity Fair but he was a painter by training. He was famous for photographing couture and soft focus images of actresses. In 1924, he photographed Gloria Swanson using lace as a filter. His depiction captured the beauty of the lace, but I was more drawn to her eyes. In real life her eyes were said to be blue not green as I have painted.
The artwork comes pre-wired on the back for hanging, signed on the front and comes with a signed certificate of authenticity from the artist.
