Capturing the Imagination
Milessa Painting in VeniceImagination makes it possible to experience a whole world inside the mind. It gives the ability to look at any situation from a different point of view, and to mentally explore the past and the future. Through my work, I hope to inspire you to capture the imagination. Imagination is the soil that brings dreams to life.

My paintings consist of two different subject matters. One of  imagination and one NOT. In my studio, I am free to capture my imagination, and create visible thinking. I’ll mix a dab of fiction, maybe some facts; add a bit of humor and a lot of color. They are energetic and quirky with clues to a playful story.

My life series are more direct and often times painted from real life experiences. Mother Nature has an imagination all her own, so I practice my visual acuity and work at portraying her gifts. In this case, my studio is open air and right within her presence. Plein aire painting teaches me to paint faster and in the moment. My goal is to capture the feeling or message she is so gloriously wanting to share with me and for you. Both palettes are made up of buttery oils like the ones used by the Impressionists, Monet and Renoir, but I would say my style is more like Van Gogh.

My style is “Modern Impressionist”. A style less meticulous, perhaps, than that of realism, as I love the creative twist here and there with my brushwork and color, leaving the finer details to the imagination.

All products I use are archival and professional grade oil colors.  A lot of care and love has been cultured into each of my paintings. Rest assured, you are getting  an original Fine Art painting.
