At the Moulin Rouge – Original

What was I thinking?
Is this Dreamscape history or fiction? The reality is both. Notice the painted playing card in the upper mid-section. This is a portion of a painting by Henry de Toulouse where he was depicting the dance hall in Moulin Rouge. The ladies of the night were well sought after by the gentlemen of Paris. The wives of these men were aware of the “daring” women but had to turn their backs to keep face with society and to keep their family intact.
